A little more personal: a trip to Italy

Although this blog will be mostly about events and social media, I can’t help but want to share some more personal aspects of my life with you. I think it will add a bit of variety to my posts – as well as hopefully some lovely pictures!

Last week I spent a week on Lake Como. I’d never been to the Italian Lake District before, and it was beautiful, even though the weather left something to be desired! From the heady heights of the Alps into Switzerland to the bustling narrow streets of Bellagio, to swimming in the lake (outside Richard Branson’s villa!), it was a really lovely place to get away and relax.

Some recommendations: Menaggio is beautiful, as is Bellagio. St Moritz is only really worth the visit if you’re feeling flush, but the drive there through the Alps is absolutely breathtaking.

Lenno has some nice little bars and restaurants along the waterfront and the absolutely delicious Ristorante il Cris further inland. Finally, make sure to take a boat out on the lake. The best deal we found was from hiringaboat.com in Ossuccio at 90€ for two hours. It was amazing to speed across the water with the sun out and a great way to see parts of the lake that we’d missed.

Have you been to the Italian Lake District? What did you think?
